Sealers soak into the stone and wear off within months — they slow staining slightly but don't stop etching from acidic foods or scratches from daily use. Our film is a physical barrier bonded over the surface, so it actually blocks contact instead of just resisting it longer.
We check this at the in-home consultation. Most countertops just need a standard clean and prime before bonding. If there's existing etching or damage, we'll walk you through what can be addressed first and what the film will protect going forward.
No — the film is designed to be invisible. It sits flush with a matte finish, so it doesn't add shine, change the color, or make the surface feel like plastic. Most clients forget it's there until something spills.
Every install is backed by a written warranty — 1 year on Essential and Pro, 2 years on Max. Armadillo Shield members also get an annual visit where any lifting edges or small cuts are re-bonded, extending the life of the film well beyond the warranty period.
The in-home visit covers measuring your countertop, inspecting its current condition, and walking through which protection level fits how your kitchen gets used. If you move forward with the install, that fee is fully credited toward the cost of your project.
